Puppy Profile – Mountains Litter’s Fuji
Now that I’m trying hard to blog more, I figured I’d take advantage of my extended word-space to write more about our individual puppies! 🙂 Facebook isn’t very conducive to wordy, multi-photo posts (plus the restrictions on selling make it tricky to word things), so I’ve sort of gotten out of the habit! So this is a new feature- I’m going to write about each of our puppies individually, because I can. 🙂
I’ll try to post updates to these posts (or update the post) but well, things get busy! I’ll give it my best shot anyway.
So, first puppy up is FUJI!
Fuji is named for Japan’s iconic mountain, Mount Fuji.
Fuji’s the only piebald in her litter, the fluffiest of the entire group, and POSSIBLY the feistiest of all her siblings. (She trades off with Kilimanjaro and Everest.) Her body spots are either going to be a silvery black (like Solo, Edi’s half-brother and Meg, Story, and Song’s dad) or blue- currently we’re leaning towards blue. She will almost certainly be brown eyed, as both her parents are. She’s really outgoing and loves to play, and is ALWAYS involved in any sibling battle that is going on.
Fuji was the second puppy to open her eyes, and the first to successfully complete a barrier challenge. (This involves climbing over a physical barrier- usually a board or low die of the whelping box initially, later escalating to a pieces of gating or doorway that the dog must navigate along rather than trying to push through- I’ll talk more about what and why in another post. :)) I love this girl’s curiosity about the world and I suspect it’ll translate into a really awesome, outgoing puppy with continued socialization and training. 🙂 Folks who have contacted me for therapy dog prospects? This might be your girl.
She’s currently charting to be in the 16-18 pound range according to her weights at birth, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks.
